This interactive data is based on reports from the public to Scamwatch. The data is updated monthly. The data may change or differ from previously published data as we review it for quality.

We’ve recently made some changes to categories:

  • The scam type categories 'classified' have been merged with ‘online shopping’ and called ‘shopping scams’ (under buying or selling).
  • The contact method categories 'internet', 'mobile' and 'social media/ online forums' are now one category, 'online'.

The change has been applied retrospectively but may differ from past public reporting.
